Alleged non-implementation of Tribunal stay order over teacher deployment draws attention

Srinagar, May 12: A contempt petition has reportedly been filed before the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Srinagar Bench, against several senior officials of the School Education Department Kashmir over the alleged non-implementation of a tribunal stay order.

According to sources, the respondents named in the petition include the Secretary School Education Department, Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Personnel Officer DSEK, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Ganderbal, Deputy CEO Ganderbal, and the Principal of BHSS Batwina Ganderbal.

The matter pertains to the deployment of a teacher, against which the Tribunal had earlier granted a stay order. However, it has been alleged that despite the subsisting judicial directions, the order was not implemented, prompting the filing of contempt proceedings before the CAT Srinagar Bench.

Sources said the case is likely to attract significant attention within the education department as the Tribunal examines allegations related to the non-compliance of its directions.

Further details in the matter are awaited.
