Kangan: The District Congress Committee (DCC) Ganderbal on Monday held a public outreach programme in Kangan as part of the ongoing campaign titled “Our State, Our Right”, launched by the Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) to press for the restoration of full statehood and democratic rights to Jammu and Kashmir.
The event saw active participation from a wide cross-section of society, including political leaders, social workers, journalists, traders, and writers, all echoing a collective call for constitutional justice and political restoration in the region.
The special guest for the event was Suhail Bukhari, Congress District Coordinator for Ganderbal, who was joined by Sheikh Aijaz, District President of the Congress Committee Ganderbal. Both leaders addressed the gathering with fervor and outlined the vision and urgency behind the party’s campaign.
In their speeches, Bukhari and Aijaz emphasized the Congress party’s unwavering commitment to protecting the political identity of Jammu and Kashmir. They highlighted the importance of reviving democratic institutions, restoring full statehood, and ensuring that public concerns are effectively represented at all levels of governance.
They further asserted that the ongoing campaign across all districts and sub-divisions of the Union Territory is designed to amplify the voice of the people and build collective pressure for constitutional rights that were eroded after the revocation of Article 370.
Attendees at the event expressed strong support for the initiative, praising it as a much-needed platform to channel public aspirations. Participants pledged to continue standing by efforts that safeguard the region’s dignity, identity, and democratic values.
