Stresses convergence & strengthening of cooperative movement for inclusive socio-economic growth
GANDERBAL, DECEMBER 16: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore today chaired the 6th District Level Cooperative Development Committee (DLCDC) meeting, here.
During the meeting, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies, Ganderbal presented a comprehensive overview of the functioning of the Cooperative Department in the district.
The Committee deliberated upon various Government of India initiatives including Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs), Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (PMKSKs), adoption of model bye-laws by Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), establishment of Common Service Centres (CSCs) and Food Processing Units (FPUs).
Deputy Registrar further informed the meeting about the progress of ongoing projects such as Super Bazaar, Food Processing Units among others.
During the meeting, DC highlighted the pivotal role of the cooperative sector in upliftment of the general public through Sahakar Se Samriddhi. He emphasized that cooperatives must function as instruments of inclusive growth and directed the concerned departments to ensure effective implementation of the flagship initiatives.
DC also issued specific directions, including the establishment of Janaushadhi Kendras through Cooperative societies at locations with adequate public footfall to ensure maximum outreach and benefit to the people.
He directed Nodal Officer HADP to submit details of FPOs along with members that have above 100 memberships to Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies to register them as PACS.
DC stressed the need for greater convergence and close coordination among line departments to effectively realize the objectives of cooperative development in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Manzoor Ahmad; Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies, Ganderbal, District Development Manager NABARD, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer and other members of the Committee.
