GANDERBAL-20th June: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Ganderbal Police has detained a notorious drug peddler under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act, following formal detention orders from the competent authority.

 

The accused, Jamsheed Maqbool Wani, son of Mohd Maqbool Wani, resident of Wani Mohalla Safapora, was found to be a habitual/repeated offender involved in the illicit trade of narcotics, primarily targeting and exploiting the local youth. Upon issuance of the detention order, he was apprehended and shifted to District Jail Udhampur.

 

This decisive action marks yet another strong message from Ganderbal Police against the drug mafia operating in the region. The J\&K Police is unwavering in its mission to eliminate the roots of drug abuse and protect the younger generation from falling into its trap.
