Ganderbal, June 11:Commuters on the Kangan route were left distressed after a passenger mini bus, bearing registration number JK01L 6277, abandoned its passengers midway without any justification.

According to several complaints received from local commuters, passengers boarding mini-bus from Soura today at around 9:30Am, were unexpectedly dropped at Dursuma Manigam. Driver reportedly instructed passengers to switch to another vehicle for the remaining journey to Kangan.

One of the passengers stated, We took a mini-bus from Soura thinking it would go directly to Kangan, as per its route. But once we reached Dursuma Manigam, the driver asked everyone to get off and change the vehicle. It was completely unprofessional and frustrating, especially for elderly and women commuters.

The irresponsible act triggered strong resentment among passengers, especially daily travelers who rely heavily on public transport.

Upon receiving complaints, ARTO Ganderbal Wajahat Qayoom and DySP Traffic Gulzar Ahmad took immediate note of the incident. Both officials assured the public that necessary action will be initiated against the driver and vehicle owner for violating transport norms.

“The safety and convenience of passengers is our top priority. Strict action will be taken against any operator found guilty of misconduct,” said ARTO Wajahat Qayoom.

Locals have appreciated the swift response of the authorities and demanded regular checks to prevent such incidents in the future, ensuring reliable public transport on the Kangan-Ganderbal route.
